The library was founded on the basis of the book fund granted by the heirs of Professor Mikheil Chikovani Marine and Vakhtang Chikovani.

Searching System was created 2008 year thanks to the enthusiasm of the members of the project "Electronic Handling of the Manuscripts Collection of Petre Umikashvili (XIX c.)".
