On 20 April, 2010, the Folklore Achieves hosted a group of the 31-st Public School guided by teacher Maia Tsutsumia.

 

On 5 march, 2010 at the conference hall of Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature was help presentation of two projects:

 

1. "Electronic Handling of the Manuscripts Collection of Petre Umikashvili (XIX c.)". Scientific director of the project is Elguja Dadunashvili. Sponsored By - Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, 2008-2009.

 

2. "Modern Georgian Narrative Folklore (According to the Oral Histories)". Scientific director of the project is Marine Turashvili. Sponsored By - "Georgian National Scientific Fund", 2009;

During presentation was shown a film on Oral Histories using method of Visual Anthropology.

Announcements:

 

From 2010 year the Folklore Archives carry out the project financed by the  Shota Rustaveli national science foundation: "Electronic Platform of the Comparative Analysis of the Georgian Folk Prose". For that reason the time for work on the Archives Materials is reduced.

 

From 01.01.10 up to 31.12.12 the Archives will work for readers on Thursdays from 11:00 up to 17:00.

 

2010-2012, Folklore Archives realizes the project: "Electronic Platform of the Comparative Analysis of the Georgian Folk Prose", sponsored By - Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation;

(Scientific director of the project is Elguja Dadunashvili doctor of philology).

 

26 August - 9 September, 2009, Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature hosted British scientist Doctor Jonatan Roper.

Debating Club

June 10, 2008, 12 o'clock meeting of the club: Mrs. Nino Tsitsishvili (Melbourne, Australia) will give the speech on "Musical Experiment and Language Changes in the Modern Georgian Popular Music Following the Examples of Folk-Jazz and Rap".
