The aim of the creation of the data base was to solve the problem of registration of the manuscripts kept in the Archives. The old order was not efficient for the determination of the common characteristics of the folklore repertoire as well as for finding out necessary materials for the research. Not having systematical searcher for receiving a little information it was necessary to check a great amount of archives materials, which caused a damage of the manuscripts kept in an unsuitable condition.      

The main principles of systematization of the materials and usage of the computer data base was worked out according to the texts and appropriate scientific disciplines (Folklore, Ethnology, Dialectology).

Thus the Archives documents are described by 26 characteristics, among them are datum of genres, plots, narrators, their birth data and place, sex, age, education, job and etc.
